true. i saw some people who were 80 and looked like 250. like walking corpses. incredible. probably waaay too many sunburns, etc.
Lots of very important things, but mostly the smoking.
Also having kids.
And that nobody has AIDS.
Yes, but the hair loss is real.
ever since i found out about this a few years ago i’m telling everyone i meet: there’s fantastic medication against hair loss, and it even causes side effects! such as mild boob growth
note that only some meds to that, while others do not.
I’m 40 and I look like the second picture
I have the body of the left but the clothing of the right.
The gabagool has a hold on you
This is the best news I’ve gotten all week. I look like a less balding 90s 30. That’s great for being 45.
Does anyone else tell themselves all the other dads they meet are actually much younger than you?
Wasn’t Tony in his 40’s?
Please say Tony was in his 40’s!!!
George Costanza was in his 30s throughout the run of seinfeld
Tony was 41 per the pilot script but the actor was 38.
AJ is now 41 in 2026.
After a few seasons yeah
When I was in my twenties people thought I looked older. Now I’m in my fifties, and people think I look much younger.
yes the thing that changed was lead posioning from gas and chain smoking cigs starting at 12
Also pesticides were even more unregulated than they are now. Remember how they just sprayed DDT everywhere in the 40’s till the 70’s. Even on directly on people. Shit had multigenerational consequences, even grandchildren of people who had a high exposure to that stuff are being affected.
I smoked from 15 to 30 drank every weekend in the same time. 40 now and I look more like the one on the right
In addition to people not smoking anymore, direct Sun exposure has dropped dramatically too.
There was a real missed opportunity to have a picture of Jason Alexander (who was in his 30’s during most of Seinfeld’s production) instead of James Gandolfini.
Still true tho
Individual genetics are probably more important. I had an uncle that liked like he was 42 when he was really 20-63.
Water, sunscreen. I feel like it was more common in the past to cast a far older person than the age of the character they were playing too on screen. There is also makeup, style choices and clothes that can influence a view quite a bit.
My wife and I were watching an episode of Frasier and he states that he’s 38 years old at one point. We were both like YEAH FUCKIN RIGHT. I’m 45 and look closer to the person on the right, but I also don’t give a shit about “dress your age” nonsense. I’m not going to willingly age myself up.
He was actually 41 in the show. In real life Frasier’s actual age was 38 so Hollywood went backwards and casted a younger person then the character. Cigarrettes had such a massive effect on people’s looks back then.
Oh wow, that tracks. My parents smoked for most of my childhood. I’ve never taken it up and never will.
I’m from the shtreets! I dress shrtreet! If you don’t like it, you can come rip these clothes right off my sexy naked body
A motto to live by.
The one in the left married at 23 and his 4 kids.
Ugh married his 4 kids too that’s sick
That explains a lot, what with the sleep deprivation and drastic lifestyle changes brought on my most kids.
