No. But when brushing my teeth I brush my tongue as well.
🤔
What do you think the Red Ribbon Army was doing at the time?
Launch took them all with her when she disappeared.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot actually has an explanation.
There used to be a fad where you took Furry Transformation drugs, it was all the rage when Goku was a kid
Somehow the Red Ribbon Army was behind the manufacturing of these drugs.
But the fad died down around Z, and most people went back to being human. Most people, you can still see animal people in the background shots of some of the Z Movies, I wanna say Android 13 and Lord Slug have them
This is the best possible name for it lmfao
“How do you explain creative diversity?”
“Drugs.”
I’m gonna be honest, I think that’s super lame. Not because it’s drugs, but because it’s a cheap way to explain not having animal people rather than just admit you don’t want to draw them anymore. It makes the world more boring.
How is “i didn’t feel like drawing them anymore” less boring?
Because then at least the universe still exists in your imagination without being a shitty retcon cop out.
This is far more terrifying than the existence of animal people
An utopia for furries actually
As I said
Was gonna say- where do we sign up? Haha
Blame Gen Z.
No they didnt. The president is a dog type earthling in DB and Z named King Furry.
His name is actually King Furry? When they said that in abridged I thought they were joking.
Lot of names in Dragonball have little puns behind them. Some survive translation unscathed, some don’t. Ka(carrot). Vegeta(ble). Nappa (Cabbage), Raditz (Radish). Bulma comes from Bloomer, Her dads name is Dr. Brief, her mom is Panchy (Panty), and her son is Trunks. Whole undergarments family.
Then there’s the Journey to the West comparisons…
Also in the Buu saga, we have the the villain Bibidi, his son Babidi, and the monster Buu.
Put 'em together and what have you got? Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!
Just learned recently that pilaf sama (DB season 1) has the character for fried rice on his shirt. So it’s a pun on rice for this evil guy somehow.
I’m assuming the pun has something to do with rice pilaf.
Rice pilaf is a dish made by toasting rice in fat (like butter or oil) before cooking it in broth with seasonings, which helps to infuse flavor and keep the grains fluffy and separate. It can include various ingredients such as vegetables, nuts, and spices, making it a versatile side dish.
Dragon Ball is not known for its subtlety, that’s for sure.
I was telling my friend about the lore, and he thought I made up the name King Furry as a joke. Had to show him screenshots from DBZ:Kakarot to convince him otherwise
The last survivor.

It was actually drugs that caused the furries in the DB universe. Only Red Ribbon Army stans know
The two beastmen assume Oolong is a Beastman until he explains he was born an Animal-type
Looks like Oolong wasn’t only forgotten by Toriyama but also by myself.
That was a very interesting read, thank you for sharing.
Facts. So it’s only natural that there would be less and less of them. It was a short lived fad.
He reached the ripe old age of 11, so they just decided to wait him out.
It went the way most things do that leave Dragonball, Toriyama didnt like to draw them.
He dropped the child nudity, the animals could have been seen as a beastiality thing, so dropped as well. Stuff just also became not acceptable.
the child nudity
As someone who’s never seen this show (or most other animes)…THE WHAT?? !!!
In Japan child nudity is not an uncommon sight in fiction, simply because it’s seen as a sign of innocence. It’s stopped being as much of a thing in newer works because Japanese Media is nowadays made with US localization in mind because if your shit becomes popular in America, it’s like getting a blank check.
It’s actually why in the Japanese Version of Earthbound Ness is naked in Magicant. (in the US Version he’s in his Pajamas)
Some people don’t actually sexualize all nudity.
In fact, nudity was used to symbolize that Goku was young and innocent. In Japan, a lack of sexual knowledge and urges is seen as a sign of youth and innocence. And there are several scenes in the original Dragon Ball where Goku is clearly confused when he encounters women in various states of undress.
But some people DO sexualize child nudity. Thats the problem.
Ok cool I guess because some people are fucked in the head we have to censor the entire world, never have art, all cultural differences have to be banned, and we just can’t enjoy life.
The actual FUCK does it matter that some people are fucked in the head. Deal with that problem as is it has nothing to do with cultural differences of nudity.
Nudity is not sex. If you are physically unable to process that difference then that needs to be something you address about yourself.
Well, as they can’t molest a cartoon, that’s their problem. We don’t need to make it anyone elses.
Some people sexualize feet, hair, and even stuff like mailboxes. Everything is sexualized by someone. If we only made media that no one found sexual, media simply couldn’t exist.
Also, being nude is the natural state of a person and shouldn’t be sexual.
I’m surprised you haven’t seen the db meme where goku discovers bulma doesn’t have a penis. https://breezewiki.com/dragonball/wiki/No_Balls! https://i.makeagif.com/media/8-14-2015/Wyri6k.gif
The manga.

I juat watched the original dragonball recently. It was weird how the animal people seem completely absent in later series. They add a sort of je ne sais quoi that makes the original series hold up.
If you ignore the objectification of Bulma who is a teenager, that is. It seemed like every other episode Roshi was trying to be a perv on her.
Well, that’s what you get when you put in power a son of a bitch for a king.
There are still animal people in DBZ and subsequent series. A couple of them are even recurring characters and part of the story. wtf?

Beerus is a cosmic demigod not native to Earth. Idk if he counts as an “Animal Person” in the same way as Oolong or the Pilaf Gang’s Shu. That said, both continue to exist in Z, GT, and Super as minor supporters/antagonists.
Incidentally, in interviews, Toriyama admits he forgot about the animal people between DB and DBZ for the most part. But mainline characters still show up from time to time.
I always thought the other animal people were just aliens, too. I mean, most of the cast are aliens. Almost all the villains are aliens. There is space travel. For all we know, the main planet of the show is entirely populated with aliens. 🤷♂️
i thought they were a type of cucumber
Those would be aliens, not people like the animals on earth.
Beerus is also a god.
🎶 animal people in my soup 🎶
What about Oolong and that lecherous turtle? Also isn’t Krillin canonically a duck?
Krillin is a chestnut monk iirc. Kuririn クリリン is his actual name.
Like most characters in the series, the name Krillin is a pun. In his case, its Japanese source, Kuririn, is made up of two parts. The first two syllables come from 栗 (kuri), which means “chestnut” in reference to his shaved head (the “chestnut” pun is also carried over to his daughter Marron). The second part of his name comes from 少林 (Shōrin; “Shaolin” in Chinese), as his early character designs were closely modeled on.
Shaolin monks. Other beliefs are that his name comes from kuri-kuri/kurin-kurin (an onomatopoeia for something cute and round), kuri-kuri shita me (meaning “big round eyes”), or the words kurikuri (which can mean “bald”) and rin (a word added to the end of a name to make it sound cute). His English name, meanwhile, seems to be a play on “krill” (both a minuscule species of shrimp-like crustacean and the Swedish term for a small fry of fish) in reference to his diminutive stature.
From: https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Krillin/Misc
Which makes me wonder if that isn’t his real name, and maybe a nickname given to him by other characters in the show, like from before he first meets Goku in Dragonball. Because other characters have the food or underwear themes of names, yet Krillin’s name is fully just making fun of how he looks.
Also isn’t Krillin canonically a duck?
What a majestic creature.
What? When/how/why is krillin a duck?
QUACK
I just learnt that Oolong was born this way and the other animal people took a drug that turned them into beast people.
The hidden genocide?
