This isn’t algospeak, it is censored as an insult, like Tr*mp.

There are like at least 100 people in this thead who lost their mind moment they saw the asterisk like a conservative hearing the word “socialism”

I’m usually pretty good at picking up on such nuances, but I’d never think of reading that as an insult. Maybe a joke, but even then, not a very good one. Good to know for future reference, though, to prevent any further losing of the mind, so to speak. G*d knows I have little enough to spare.

I’m pretty sure people do this with contentious names or topics to avoid the people who are using it as a search term to engage in less than savory ways. People that follow them know what they mean, but people purely looking for people to get angry at don’t see it in search.

It’s like you’re pretending the word is so repugnant to you that you don’t want the full word dirtying up your comment history. It lies in the same vane as fake outrage and sarcasm.

wait what. animal butthole art is some of my favorite art. I know this dude who has enough of it to decorate his entire 3,000 square foot home in it.

i bought him a painting once, but before i could get it to him I fell in love with it and it went above my mantelpiece for a year.

aaand fuck i just realized i don’t have enough places to hang my arts if I get an RV. I’m not sure what i’d do without my arts.

I’ve had my 3 genie wishes planned out since I was a kid, but I’m starting to think if I can use a lot of commas in each wish I should be able to squeeze them down to 2 and use my 3rd one to wish for everyone who self-censors internet images or post titles to burst into flame.

At least in English, commas aren’t magic sentence separators; you might wish to look into the semicolon for joining independent clauses.

They can be used similar to parentheticals to break up large, complex thoughts and format them as a single sentence. Legally and historically that is often how the comma was used, and it is grammatically correct usage.

In this economy? Burying the bodies would bankrupt half their families. I haven’t heard anything about spontaneous human combustion in decades now, and it’s time we get that back in the news.

Oh, wow. Did you do it that way where you just totally disappear and no one ever sees you again but there’s a charred outline on your bed in the shape of your body and somehow it managed to just barely char the mattress and bedding without burning it up entirely?

It’s been on my bucket list forever, but it’s still something I haven’t gotten around to trying yet.

It’s typical in Judaism and some branches of Christianity. But why would someone who doesn’t believe in God do it like the creator of this meme ?

your username just helped me figure out the etymology of the word grateful. see, you grate cheese. gratefulness is the emotion you are in when you are full of cheese. just some people became vegan (or italian?1) and forgot how to feel grateful about cheese. language ain’t caught up yet.
