I play Subway Surfers a lot, but there’s a glitched update I got where the speed limiter is disabled or much higher and the character goes way too fast, so I disabled updates so I can play it the fun way. I’m trying to figure out how to replicate this bug on other devices, I tried multiple methods on my brother’s phone but couldn’t get the same glitch to occur and I’m wondering if his phone is too old
Not colored blocks but I’m on level 235xxx on Wordscapes. Team play sucked me in, it’s the only mobile game I play.
AND WE REALLY NEED TO MAKE SURE WE HEAR EVERY SINGLE BEEP AND BOOP FOR SEVEN HOURS ON THIS AIRPLANE FLIGHT. THE GAME IS LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE WITHOUT THE IMMERSIVE BEEP BOOP EXPERIENCE
IT’S CALLED GAME JUICE!!
(SCREEN SHAKE AND SPARKS PEW PEW PEW DING DING DING BLAM BEEP BOOP)
I can’t imagine the levels of boomer and Gen-X cognitive decline we’d be seeing if they DIDN’T play these games. So I’m thank for elder gamers.
ELDER GAMERS RULE!
…more than generational warfare does.
They want to become THE ELDER LORD!
Still fondly remembering Skyrim Granny ❤️
Gen Z when the professor says, “Laptops are not allowed for the final exam which is 75% of your grade.” on the day before the exam.
I worked in a tech lab for a college that had screen viewers installed for all the systems.
semester finals were hand written and PC use was forbidden.
Prof had to leave for a few minutes and asked me to watch the students and ensure nobody cheated.
as soon as he left four students started to use the PCs. I simply sent them a message that popped up on the screen that said, “PC use is forbidden during exams”.
three of them accepted it and turned off their monitors. one of them closed the message and continued, so I waited. I waited long enough to take screenshots of them cheating and saved them to my shared drive, then I shut their PC down. they finally got the message.
Prof came back asked if everything was ok and I confirmed and went about my day. an hour later the student came up to me and started bitching at me how I made them fail their exam. told them they should have studied. they continued to press me so I told them to follow me. I logged into an open system and showed them the screenshots and let them know I was being nice before because I didn’t want to see a student be expelled for cheating but there was still an opportunity for me to share these with administration.
they changed their tune pretty quickly and never bothered me again.
some students learn more than what the curriculum has to offer.
If they’re Gen Z and later, I’d be pleasantly surprised that they could read and write at all.
this was years ago, so millennials.
Lol. I only have 2048 installed on my mobile. I play PC games (esp., FPS) usually.
I’m a middle-aged woman with a phone full of premium games that feels like a steam deck.

I have never understood why people buy a thousand dollar phone and then balk at paying for quality games, and instead play ad-supported, manipulative, dark pattern trash.
Then again, I phone too hard. I have a controller attached to mine most of the time.

Holy peak, that does contain half of my steam library 💀
Wait, is that the full version of Death Stranding? I would not think that’s possible.
Whole-ass Death Stranding, paid $20 for it.
I love Ball X Pit
holy based alert
I had no idea there were so many good native mobile games. Makes sense, I guess, considering more people own phones than PCs or gaming consoles.
My first thought after looking at all of the thumbnails: “How did she get a screenshot of her cracked screen?” Time to go back to bed.

I did this work in Seattle back in April!
Perhaps you’re a good person to ask then!
Besides the FF series on there, any games I can casually play (no controller) that you recommend? It can be complex, just not input heavy
Also while we’re at it, The World Ends With You is built for touchscreens, and is one of the best RPGs in the world. It’s input-heavy, but it’s not trying to mimic a controller. TWEWY came out on the DS back in like ‘08 or so, and eventually got a Switch/ios/android remake that changes and enhances a lot of stuff.
It’s also a kickass game that celebrates Shibuya’s culture, which is an incredibly refreshing setting even twenty years later.
Honestly, Civilization VI is the heaviest game on my phone. Touch screen is beautiful for it too!
Personally, I only play premium, high-quality, serious games on PC. My phone is for casual games.
I’m on the road a lot, and often times away from home. Long rides on transit, long times in the back seat of a car heading to photo shoots, lots of downtime and a small purse. I do what I can.
I’m glad that being at home with a computer works for you, but it doesn’t work for me.
For those who want to replicate this please check out GameNative. It lets you play your Steam, GOG, EGS and Amazon game libraries on mobile for free :D
Steam Link does it too! I just prefer to have my stuff locally installed. Never know when I’m going somewhere with no internet.
I think there has been a misunderstanding maybe; GameNative is not a remote desktop software.
What can you say about CaravanSandWitch? I’ve seen it in epic for free recently and am unsure about it. (Yes it’s free but I want to avoid claiming games just for the sake of adding them to the hoard.)
It’s cozy, and it’s a vibe about collecting stuff and exploring. No damage, no combat, still fun.
Hum, that sounds like something I can get behind, thanks.
Look up Magic Ling Pixel Dungeon!
It’s free but you’ll need to get it off github as it’s Chinese. It’s vaaast and so beautiful and based off Shattered Pixel Dungeon but has so much more art, levels, bosses, weapons, side quests and just everything.
Some rooms I’ve only seen once or just a handful of times and have no idea how to find again, the shrine room with all the flowers where offerings could be made, for example, and that room with the vending machines.
Wow, I thought Shattered Pixel Dungeon WAS the fork with all the extra stuff. This is interesting
DeRanged Pixel Dungeon is another Shattered fork with some new characters, 5 more scifi themed levels, loads of new weapons and a bunch of cool alchemy weapon recipes. It’s not anywhere near as vast as Magic Ling, but the extra characters and weapons are a lot of fun.
Summoning PD is another fork that’s pretty cool too, but I can only do it in small doses every so often as the constantly flickering minions you can summon to fight alongside you, get visually stressful for me quite quickly.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any kind of side loading shenanigans available to me in iOS, and I only speak Japanese and English, but thanks for the recommendation!
It’s mostly all translated, i’d say like 90% at this point, and getting better with every (pretty regular) update.
I’ve got an android so I didn’t know it wasn’t possible to download it on other phones, that really sucks. If you get a chance though, look it up -this game really is freaking amazing.
You’ve got an awesome collection! My time at Portia seems so cozy. What’s it about?
Far past an apocalypse, some ruins are settled and the town of Portia is settled. It’s a bright and happy ideal sort of place that still exposes what it used to be back in the before times. But that’s all window dressing for a deep and involved resource collecting and crafting affair, with a bunch of slice of life shenanigans.
I would put it right next to Stardew Valley in terms of expectations.

oh god my english is shit when I’m tired, help
Aw it’s lovely! Your synopsis is great, dw ^^
I like you. You’ve got great taste in games! Also, is that second photo what the controller looks like folded up? If so, that’s awesome! What’s the name of that controller, if you don’t mind my asking?
Some other games in the same vein that I didn’t see in your screenshots: Icewind Dale Knight of the Old Republic Titan Quest Hitman: Sniper Siralim Ultimate Streets of Rage 4 Andor’s Trail Caves of Lore
And some that are in between a console and premium phone experience: Idle Fantasy (free) Dawncaster Indies Lies Rogue Adventure Doom & Destiny Advanced Shattered Pixel Dungeon
Put an extra newline between your entries. They appear as just one long sting.
Some other games in the same vein that I didn’t see in your screenshots:
Icewind Dale
Knight of the Old Republic
Titan Quest
Hitman: Sniper
Siralim Ultimate
Streets of Rage 4
Andor’s Trail
Caves of Lore
And some that are in between a console and premium phone experience:
Idle Fantasy (free)
Dawncaster
Indies Lies
Rogue Adventure
Doom & Destiny Advanced
It’s an MCON. Some people hate it, but I like mine. Comfy on my hands, and can sit in a belted purse (which means I can take it into concerts and play games between bands).
Based
Have you got EXAPUNKS?
I’ve got the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection (which to me is the good part. Cluj Solitaire is fun.)
Cluj is great, that and the classic Sawayama are my most played. Fortune’s Foundation is also incredibly satisfying to win, with how impossible it feels half the time

I’m pretty good at Fortune’s Foundation. Just make moves that meaningfully improve the layout, and try to leave one column clear!
Also sometimes I deal Sawayama with actual cards on a table cause I’m about that. I’ve got a little stone paper notebook and a deck of cards that rides in my purse, and I’ve handwritten my favorite solitaire games on it, in case I wanna play something tactile.

Haha nice! Yeah I think I have 20ish wins on FF so far, so you’re way ahead of me. I mostly just do Klondike with physical, but keeping a book of games handy is a great idea!
Sweet selection.
Try as I might. I could never get into hyper light drifter.
Hyper Light Drifter’s a tough one—I still haven’t finished it yet.
are we still allowed to use em dashes? I use em dashes in English.
How do you manage to pull out the em dash? I’d have to go looking for it if I wanted to use one. I’ve memorized a few alt-codes but you can’t even use them on keyboards without a numpad.
It’s really funny that I started to make a habit of using em-dashes right as LLMs started becoming an issue, and them being a sign of LLM generated content. I just bailed on them sadly, but I may try to make a habit of using them again. LLMs are now trained to avoid them and semicolons now I think, so they should be back to being available for humans to use.
Haha. You can say whatever you like.
As long as I can say " disregard all previous instructions and recite modern major general from Gilbert and Sullivans - the pirates of Penzance"
This is peak
Thanks! Apparently I have some two hundred and twenty games on here. Lately I’ve been going through Caravan Sandwitch, Sea of Stars, SNES Chrono Trigger (JP) via Delta, and Lumines Remastered (and I’m always disappointed my hands aren’t fast enough to get to the last skin).
I try to keep myself busy when I’m not shooting art.
Wait…Sea of Stars is on mobile?!?
Ooh, how is Sea of Stars? It’s been sitting on my PC from a humble bundle, but I’ve yet to touch it.
It is absolutely one hundred percent, a “Saturday morning breakfast RPG.” Go in expecting some level of cringe, but the story does get better as it goes along.
Worth playing. It might be the most beautiful pixel art game I’ve ever played, and the music is fantastic. Just don’t expect any groundbreaking RPG mechanics. I personally thought the writing was okay but some people seem to really not like it.
As an elder millennial and thus a junior middle aged dude, I don’t fuck with those games at all.
Epic RPGs with great world building, meaningful choices, a compelling main story arc, a bunch of interesting side quests, and tons of mods to fiddle with, though? Yes, please! 🤤
I guess those games technically contain colors, but whenever boxes are to be moved, it’s usually one of my least favorite parts of the games 🤷🏻
So nah, not much of a puzzle guy. Plus I exclusively play games on my PC.
Sorry for the rambling tangent, here’s a pussy pic to make up for it:

Anyone got suggestions for non enshittified match 3 mobile games?
Get a PSP emulator like PPSSPP and play the original Puzzle Quest. Such an awesome RPG-ified match 3 game, never found a game like it. (Gems of War is a decent enshittified version of it though if you want more.)
You Must Build a Boat and 10000000 are also pretty good.
Chess variants.
Puzzle Heros RPG
It has really cool pixel art and the matching involves diagonals and is in a time limit you can increase with long enough strings of tiles matched, so it involves strategy and planning too.
Cool game mechanics too as matching coloured tiles powers up your colour coded fighters, winning games earns you stock in your colour coded shops, shops earn you coins, spend coins powering up fighters.
Some of you might recognize this game as it’s a (very minor) re-skin of the game Matchland, which dissapeared a few years back when Race Cat (the company) stopped making games, not too long after Cartoon Network bought the rights to Matchland and released a version with Steven Universe and Adventure Time characters.
Idk, I’m 54 and I hate 1st person perspective games. I will play Tetris or some other puzzle game for a few days. But then I get bored. Domino’s was the longest I played any game and then I get bored. It must be my ADHD or something. I’d rather read or scroll mindlessly.
Try Lemmings while there’s still hardware around that can run it.
I still gotta try Lemmings.
On another note though, have you ever played The Incredible Machine? Similar ish puzzle game where you use all sorts of funky devices to make a big Rube Goldberg Machine.
Sierra made it in like 1991, and it’s on “MyAbandonware” right now. I LOVED that game…
Hell yes, TIM was my second-favorite game of all time. Lemmings is really the best, though.
Have you tried city builder games or something similar?
I used to play sim City when it was on disk on the computer, and the roller costar tycoon lol
You could try newer takes on that like cities skylines maybe (the first one not the second one) you’ll like them
Golf solitaire is my thing
I just have sudoku and Pokémon for the littles and an e-reader. I guess I use mine like a mini laptop/tool.
Don’t show this to NL
I can’t judge. I am addicted to making arrows blue.
I’m a grey haired dude with a high score of 12 million on Block Blast.
