“New and lesser known yokai” i honestly always thought yokai would all be at least ~200 years old. Now it seems to me like yokai are basically just SCP that have been written over hundreds of years
Yep. Stuff like The Ring girl, the slit mouth girl, along with the ancient ones like Yukki Ona, all sorts of Yokai exist. It basically encompasses all ghosts and fairy tales, though many are taken very superstitiously and seriously.
