Apparently pre-rinsing confuses the dishwasher or something. Not doing it leaves me with residue all over the other dishes though 🤷

Use prewash detergent
Powder detergent only for both washes
Stack the dishwasher according to the manual
Don’t leave your dishes for a week before putting them in the dishwasher
You can only choose one of the four
