Bitcoin didn’t really make it as a currency, though - as far I can tell it’s mostly used as a investment vehicle. What’s the actual value behind all the billions invested in it?
Bitcoin doesn’t require any business propping it up. It is a decentralized ledger.
As long as people trade with it, it has value. No one needs to advertise it. No one needs to market it. You still see malicious scams take advantage of using it to exfiltrate funds. Ransomware still demands it.
It actually works pretty damn well at what it does. People love to hate on it but I never saw it going away or any bubble there. It was always a decentralized technology. The US could collapse tomorrow and Bitcoin would still be around and valuable.
