I mean the best countries are democratic socialists countries operating under regulated capitalism.

Properly regulated capitalism is a solid economic system.

    A Government should provide:

    1. Food, health and housing security.
    2. Regulation of private industries to prevent abuse of people, finance, ecosystems.
    3. A reasonable amount of military strength that is adequate to protect the nation.
    4. Taxation that allows for points 1,2, and 3 and prevents insane wealth accumulation at the top.

Welfare is not socialism. Socialism is a broader system with a worker state and public ownership of the commanding heights of the economy. Regulations without a worker state and without public ownership of the commanding heights is always twisted in a manner that either protects capital or entrenches it. The European social democracies all rely on imperialism for their safety nets because they do not have socialism.

That’s not what democratic socialism is. That’s social democracy – Capitalism with some kind of social net. It fails for the same reasons capitalism eventually fails; usually after failing as a social democracy first, because capitalist elites will cause corruption & dismantling of the safety net (as is going on everywhere in Europe)

Edit: It’s turning my double dashes to emdashes, I didnt chatgpt this :(

      1. Benifit from US imperialism.
      2. Support genocides.
      3. Completely ignore the material conditions of the global south and pretend it’s their fault they are still underdeveloped.
      4. Still have poverty despite extremely high levels of average GDP per capita.

First of all you confused democratic socialism with social democracy. Socialism is fundamentally incompatible with capitalism. What you describe is social democracy.

More importantly, “properly regulated capitalism” has always led to regular capitalism. “properly regulated capitalism” still results in exploitation, if not domestically then abroad. “properly regulated capitalism” still results in commodification of common goods, depletion of resources, a class society, and environmental damage.

Capitalism has only ever worked in theory

Socialism in China lifted 800,000,000 people out of poverty in 40 years and now they’re replacing America as the global hegemon. Socialism allowed the USSR to beat the Americans to space, despite the fact that 30 years prior everyone was peasents, and they just got fucked by the 2nd world war.
