I don’t think it deserved to be cancelled, but I understand why fans of the previous series’ hated it if they were expecting the fun, campy style of SG1 and Atlantis. I never watched SG1 or Atlantis until AFTER universe, because I saw the original movie they were all based on and thought it was kinda lame; figured the shows would be too.

if you drink while you watch it, you can rewatch it as many times as you want and you’ll always find something new.
Just about to finish my first watch thru! And I have been drinking so I can’t wait for round 2!

Stargate SG1 has plot holes so big you could drive a solar system through them
But it’s still some of the greatest TV ever made

The sad thing is, it mostly deserved to get cancelled overall.
It just sucks that right near the end it seemed to finally find its footing and maybe start getting good… :(

Rewatch every 8 years or so. Still good after the 3rd re-watch this year.
Episodes are very long
The 40 minute standard of when TV shows were still made for TV program is shorter than most high level streaming show episodes nowadays.
