      Even if it’s DRM free, it completely kills the resale market. Good luck finding something for any game going forward at a discount or being able to make back any of your money off of it when you’re done playing.

      And yes, we know the natural conclusion from both sides as a result of this: more people will pirate, and prices will stay high, and only one of those two groups will have the leverage of the government and police.

      GOG has been so much better than optical media for well over a decade at this point. You can’t easily backup your physical games. I can backup my game installers, not just GOG either but they are the most popular IIRC. But I got Factorio DRM free directly from Wube.

      And that exact reason is why physical media is out for the next generation. They want to control your ability to share, lend, and re-sell

    Code? I would fucking love it if games just let you download the code. (there are even some paid games which do btw)
