If you’re going to get expensive hardware and be digital only, might as well go PC while you can. The money you save not having to pay PS Plus to play with friends would add up quick. Not to mention open source, privacy respecting options, no need to be online, modding, more welcoming communities, emulation, etc. If you want a console experience, you can use something like Bazzite or SteamOS.

    I’m pretty sure you can find a USB version of any controller you prefer. I have a gamecube controller on a USB cable. Check ebay if you can’t find it anywhere else.

    As for the tv, I’m pretty sure you can connect your computer over at least one of either HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA, depending on how old/budget your hardware is.

    I can’t think of any reason to go with the user-locked hardware where you’ll still need to download games anyway instead of owning physical media.
