For reference:
Also, this was Sony during the PS4 era:

If you’re going to get expensive hardware and be digital only, might as well go PC while you can. The money you save not having to pay PS Plus to play with friends would add up quick. Not to mention open source, privacy respecting options, no need to be online, modding, more welcoming communities, emulation, etc. If you want a console experience, you can use something like Bazzite or SteamOS.

You don’t own your steam gamea btw.
Steam lets you keep access to delisted games in your library but I know what you mean.
You’re not wrong, but they’re more consumer friendly than either Sony or Microsoft. You also have a larger library of titles. You’re also not limited to Steam. GOG at least prides themselves on DRM free games. Probably the closest to digital ownership you’ll get today.
You do own GOG games though, since you can download offline installers that has no DRM whatsoever.
There are PC tools to get around steam DRM. If the time comes where I need to use them, I will. Until then I’ll support steam or gog and the game creators one way or the other the goal is to play the games I want and support the people who make them.
