It came with my Logitech C922 webcam.

No idea what this shit is, but if you want it, here you go.

Xsplit is a video mixer, which has been kind of shut out by the free and accessible OBS that most streamers use these days. I haven’t looked in on it in so long that I have no idea what they could possibly be bringing to the table for their subscription based service that the free options aren’t already doing.

Xsplit is more ‘beginner’ friendly. But beginners are most likely broke and would prefer the free option…

Probably a “grey hat” scam. As in, three months for free, but probably requiring a credit card, which then automatically gets charged after the first three months, hoping that the user simply doesn’t have the patience to unsubscribe or something.

Yeah, I mean that’s basically all free trials. This type of pack-in is essentially just paid advertising.

I’ve fallen for it a few times when I was younger, but nowadays I just refuse all free stuff. Not all things are so malicious, but I can’t be bothered to be on my guard all the time. Like I often get offered free stuff at the train station. It’s usually just some unmotivated student who’s standing there because they’re getting paid. I’m sure it’s actually just a plain, free sample, but I can’t be arsed anymore.

Even though Microsoft still installs it with M365 only for it to tell you to use teams instead.

Maybe they fixed it now but it still did that sometimes a few months ago. I’ve removed skype like 3 times on my work computer.

No windows at home, except the glass kind. :)

This really depends on how your admin has configured it to deploy, it’s installed with an XML file that has configurations on what features to install. Skype for business still exists for the few customers using the onprem sfb server, latest one being released 2025.

However if your admin has moved you all to teams, then Skype will tell you to open teams instead

I think I had this same webcam about… Ten years ago? Full HD, autofocus… If it is indeed the same product, maybe the included “pamphlet” is old as F too.
