I contested that based on the history of cruelty perpetuated by and for Europeans and that even to this day many EU countries maintain neocolonial dominance over former colonies and other countries, benefiting from the superexploitation of their people. The EU also whitewashes western crimes constantly and helps demonize any country that seeks a sovereign path (including China). Hell, they profit from the genocide in Gaza and other atrocities worldwide and prosecute protesters locally.

There are a lot of pro Palestine demos, I go to them once a month, my grandpa is disabled and nearly everything is covered by inssurcance, I have never heard of censorship of pro Russian articles (but like Gaza, mainstream media will be very biased, which is a problem), trans people face no legal discrimination (but authoritarian and conservatives try to change that, which is a major problem)

The EU is imperialist, just like the US. Russia is run by oligarchs, true, but China is both democratic and a socialist country.
