I’ve blocked Cowbee because they kept trying to justify China rubber staping the genocide in Gaza by voting for the Trump UNSC proposal after 2 years of genocide. Some people will justify anything China does.
China didn’t vote for the proposal, though. They abstained. I agree voting against would have been good, but it’s strange to claim they voted for it.

Yep, it’s frustrating because the only reason I gently reached out to them while they flipped 180 on China, calling it imperialist and Blue MAGA, was because I thought they were generally more reasonable. A radlib with good political instincts, but someone that could use real organizing work and study. Unfortunately, it seems they became Bad Empanada poisoned, causing them to see enemies out of every ally by finding imperfections and magnifying them.
Doubly frustrating that they blocked me, rather than respond in earnest. Even before they blocked me, they would just respond with unrelated Bad Empanada tweets. I imagine that’s how the falling out with Grad and Hexbear happened (Grad banned them as well for liberalism).
Abstaining is nothing more than a cowardly way of voting in favor. They have veto rights and they know it will pass if they don’t veto it.
Silence is consent in the most literal terms here.

Personally, I would rather China take a more millitant anti-imperialist stance than their current passive stance. There’s good reason to believe this will be the case in the future, as younger generations in China are more millitant and more overwhelmingly pro-Palestine. However, I don’t confuse imperfect allies for enemies, which is the western-leftist mistake you’ve fallen for. You did the same with Hexbear, calling them “transzionist” and claiming they ban critique of contrapoints because she’s trans. The reality is that Hexbear is anti-zionist and pro-trans, and regularly clowns on contrapoints for her awful liberalism.
China is contributing to a multi-polar world. China’s position in the global stage facilitates south-south trade, which bypasses unequal exchange, where the global north maintains monopolies on high tech industries so as to consistently charge monopoly prices in exchange with the global south. China charges non-monopoly prices, and this is why exchange with China, alongside the rise of the Belt and Road Initiative, has resulted in dramatic development in African and Latin American countries. This is ultimately the single greatest contributor to the downfall of imperialism globally, and is why right now there is such a large cold war with China.
Your confusion of imperfect allies with enemies is why the western left has continued to fail to meaningfully challenge the status quo. Jones Manoel was correct in Western Marxism Loves Purity and Martyrdom, But Not Real Revolution. Western leftists do the work of the US Empire by making the same mistakes you’ve been making with respect to China, thereby sabotaging allies and making the efforts of the ones actually arming, facilitating, and committing the genocide easier.
TL;DR join an org. Having a practical outlet to test theory to practice, and directly organize against arming and supporting Israel, is a much better use of your time. It will also help you form a more correct understanding of anti-imperialist struggle.

Using “they” for a singular person has been used since at least the 14th century, so there’s no need to feel uncomfortable with it. I highly recommend reading the Wikipedia page on Singular they, which touches on its history.
A similar example is “you.” “You” used to be only a plural, with “thou” being the singular, but over time it fell out of fashion and now “you” can be used as singular or plural, like how “they” can be singular or plural.
Singular “they” was criticised by some people hundreds of years after it started being used. But language cannot be prescribed; it is determined by how people use it.

Yep, they/them/theirs is used in the same place as he/him/his or she/her/hers. It/it/its should not be used for people unless someone explicitly says those are their preferred pronouns. “It” is typically used for objects and non-human animals, so it could be seen as rude to refer to a human as “it.” If unsure, use they/them.
Some people do use it/its as pronouns, fyi.

Cowbee is a user who makes a lot of comments in discussion and debate threads about socialism and communism. IMO he’s extremely patient and gives very detailed explanations/arguments. Some people disagree with him (which is OK, of course), but some of those people are IMO rude and/or dishonest about it. This form is a joke about that.
Cowbee has answered so many of my questions and been very patient.
We all deserve to do him a favour and read his ml reading list
