Docker is like the next logical extension of what a VM is… But instead of a whole ass machine getting spun up, along with all its various bullshit, just to run one application; Docker is a purpose driven slice of only the required dependencies for your single app, nothing more, nothing less.

This solves a few problems, resources because you are running bare minimum components, the “it ran on my machine” problem, because everything you need is literally inside the image, and it’s pretty easy to work with since Docker runs inside its own container and only inside its own container. This means you can easily drop new apps in and pull them out with no drama…

I mean sure, you’re going to be climbing the walls and losing your shit for 90+ days (if you’re lucky) but on the other hand… That Bloomin onion!!
