I can’t find a picture to post but recently the building fad in my country for single family homes is cubes. Literally, cubes. The houses are made of grouped cubic structures. No rounded surfaces, no decorative details. A bit like watered down brutalism.

Can’t imagine those houses aging well.

Meanwhile, old stone houses just look… good. Renovated, awsome. Abandoned, creepy. No ghosts though.

The company I work for pays horrors for the full MS suite. That alone should be enough to force some thinking.

But I digress.

I’m not a desk jokey but I have to fill a sheet daily and occasionally a few other documents. I only use LibreOffice.

When I first received the models, they were filled with errors and bad formatting. And printing the sheet always put out shrunk versions of the document, hard to read. I got printed copies along with the digital files, “in case I couldn’t open the files”.

My spreadsheet jailbroke the document, allowing me to rectify the errors and the prints come out using the entire sheet, with better end results than the official version.

Someone, very well paid, is wasting a lot of money.

The usual lot says Excel is better. Haven’t found a difference yet.

So, essentially, the screws are being turned, only slower.

But what is being stressed is that no unregistered developer will be able to supply software for Android. The people behind NewPipe are adamant on not complying, hence, the program ceasing to function on registered devices.

A slight high-jack to your post: NewPipe will stop working with the Google lockdown in September.

I personally think it will be a plus for me, as I keep YT open too much time but for those who rely on it for entertainment, info and whatnot, what alternatives will remain?

Is Mr. Skeletal an old time cliopart? Very nice.

And is it not good that it does not? Serves to show that creativity is a unique process to each individual. If it works, that is what it matters.

No hate anywhere. Writing by hand is a commited effort. The moment the ink sets, it’s there. No back space to hit and erase whatever you wrote because it doesn’t sound good. You can cross it out but when you go back to read what may have survived you remember what you rejected in the moment and that may actually be useful if tweaked or reviewed.

And writing by hand is useful. It actuates the body. Works it. Develops fine motor skills. It can even let out cues to mental states in how the hand writing comes out. And it is physical. It exists. It is not an ethereal string of bits that may cease to exist if an electrically charged storage medium fails.

If you want to write, just write.

Get some paper, a pen, sit your butt down and write.

Don’t use a computer. Not yet. Commit to writing what comes out. Keep the mistakes, the bad spelling, the weird phrasing, everything.

Just let it out.

Then get away. And I do mean away.

Throw it in the corner, maybe behind the cat litter or the dog food or perhaps near the toilet or stand your bed lamp on it.

Let it get cold. Maybe a week.

Then go back, read it and, now, you can you the computer or the cellphone to start cleaning up the thing and improving it.
