It’s bad enough when these politicians decide to throw a minority group under the bus, but then people have the nerve to demand that the minority group vote for them anyway. Asshole, don’t you think the loss of votes from trans people has been assumed and a part of the politician’s calculus anyway? If they lose because they lost the trans and trans ally vote in pursuit of the transphobe vote, it’s their fault. They fucked up. They lost because they harbor harmful beliefs and made a shitty choice. Your anger should be directed at them. If they win, bully for you I guess. The party just became worse. The long-term outlook for trans people and other minorities just got worse.
