perhaps the greatest achievement (?) of trump and his cronies is making “they live” an obsolete movie. they’re saying in people’s faces now everything every past 'murican government (and their pervasive elites) tried to embelish and coat in self-righteousness. for anyone who lived outside the country, especially those outside global north, this is some sort of twisted vindication.
For anyone like me whose bullshit detector calibration is off from the past 10 years of crazy, this is indeed a real tweet from the official White House Twitter account.

It is an international perspective. That country is burned out, board up the door and windows leading up there. Nobody needs to go, trade, or talk to them, they’re done. It’s like they’re not there anymore. Life needs to go on without them, it’s over. Maybe in 4 years, in the unlikely event that there are still elections, they will gets their shit together, but for now, lock the door to the asylum and throw away the key into the drawer of garbage.
